Sidi Adueda MX Boots

For anyone who really rides motorcycles, boots are a very important piece of protection, safety, and stability on the bike. After acquiring another dirt bike last year I knew my old worn out MX boots were not going to cut it. I decided to start looking for a new set of boots, but I didn't want to spend the $500+ that a set of pro level boots runs. Also not wanting to go with another set of cheap boots I began looking around for something a bit middle of the road. Sidi had the answer with their Agueda (pronounced AG-UH-DUH) boots. Named after the famed circuit in Portugal, these boots offer an excellent level of protection with a price tag under $300.

I have spent a lot of time in these. Every thing from single track trail riding to racing the Desert 100 and dual sport riding hundreds of miles per day, these boots have held up nicely.

They have some of the rigidity of a full MX boot which offers great ankle and calf support but have enough flex that they are comfortable to walk short distances in, such as into restaurants etc... The boots do have a fair amount of lateral and medial (side) flexibility to them which means your ankles will not be full protected from side to side movement, but this sacrifice is offset by the high-end boot features like the replaceable buckles, sole, and the steel toe protector. The "technomicro" material that Sidi uses instead of leather is incredibly durable and resilient. Trust me, I have whacked my feet on rocks, trees, and other motorcycles. My feet have never been more than sweaty!

These are not waterproof, but the weekend of the 2018 Desert 100, it poured down rain and these boots took a beating; they slogged through the streams, mud, rocks, and debris with out snagging a stitch or coming unbuckled. My feet were mostly dry by the end of the poker run on Saturday and the boots were dry for race day on Sunday!

If you are looking for an affordable boot that functions as a "do-it-all" piece of motorcycling footwear, check out the Agueda. It won't let you down!
