Mediterranean Bloomscape

Tucked along the Spanish coast is a little town called Blanes. Situated just north of Barcelona, Blanes is a wonderful abstract from the city. It’s peaceful, calm atmosphere is a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of Barcelona. While visiting Barcelona we wanted to explore outside the city and found that Blanes has fantastic botanical gardens. Despite being the off season, the gardens were open and ready with only a few people visiting at the time. This was my first experience in the Mediterranean; seeing the vibrant colors, and local plants was fantastic! These flowers are a perfect example of purple bougainvillea, a non-native flower that thrives in the Mediterranean climate! This photo is available as a print or puzzle in the shop!
