Stripes in Focus

On my most recent international trip, I was headed to Africa! One of my main goals for the trip was to see the wildlife. Pictures can only do an animal so much justice and I felt like seeing the big 5 would make for some epic stories. Seeing these magnificent animals in the flesh made the experience so much better. Not only are they proud creatures, sauntering across the plains but they are also beautiful standing still. This zebra was curious as to why we stopped for so long to watch him eat, but I was utterly captivated by his face and stripes. I took several shots to get this direct of an image and could not be happier. I feel that it represents the striking contrast in colors the plains hold; the black and white stripes against a green backdrop with the browns and tans of the grasses holding the bottom of the image.
